Welcome to the Gender Equity Center!
We're so happy you're here!
The Whittier College Gender Equity Center was created in the Fall of 2021 thanks to a student-led initiative in the Spring of 2019. Written by student Grace Reeder, the Gender Equity Center Bill was presented to ASWC Senate focused on Title IX education and later approved. Since the establishment of the center, the GEC has worked to achieve such goals while expanding to also become a designated safe space for our campus community. Throughout the school year, the GEC hosts monthly events, weekly Trans [support] Talks, and leads policy initiatives behind the scenes. It is our goal and mission to promote gender equity for Whittier College students through dialogue, resources, advocacy initiatives, and community building. We hope that our programing, support groups, and advocacy initiatives will help distinguish our presence on campus and encourage student involvement with our center.
